In January 2010 I set myself a challenge - To take a photo a day for the whole year. Sounds so simple.. But I want each of the photos to be worth printing in at least A4 size, something that is interesting, beautiful or unusual in some way. This should be a way for me to increase my photography skills and something that is worth sharing with friends and fellow photogs. I stopped uploading photos to this blog for around 7 years...So I will be uploading pictures to fill in the blanks.

An old bridge I saw about two years ago.Today I found itvagain and stopped for a few minutes to take this photo.
154- Alston Station.
This narrow rail train service was fully operational until 1976. Today it is fully managed by volunteers.

151 - Sitting on the fence
A girl sits on a fence texting someone while a noisy and exciting gridiron game is played just a few feet away.
I like the way the afternoon sunlight works in this photo.

150 - Daniel
Daniel working on his laptop this evening.
Two flashes used. One on camera and one placed on his left knee facing towards him.
Nice catch lights in his eyes but still a bit of shadow on the wall behind him.
Converted to black & White and sharpened.

147 - Looking for a clear pass
Croydon Rangers 2 V Crusaders on yesterday - It was rainingheavily for most of the game and I found out three things:
1 - My camera and lense are waterproof.
2 - How to tie my monopod to my umbrella so I can keep myself and my equipment dry at the same time.
3 - Using 9 foucs points instead of 52, speeds up focussing and allows players to blur out in front and behind the player I am focused on.

142- Grasmere?
A bit dark at the bottom of the photo, but I do like the way the light comes through the overhead branches to light up a few leaves.
140 -wind power
It's unbelievable that I was able to walk right up to these windmills. Anywhere else in the world there would be restricted access.
