In January 2010 I set myself a challenge - To take a photo a day for the whole year. Sounds so simple.. But I want each of the photos to be worth printing in at least A4 size, something that is interesting, beautiful or unusual in some way. This should be a way for me to increase my photography skills and something that is worth sharing with friends and fellow photogs. I stopped uploading photos to this blog for around 7 years...So I will be uploading pictures to fill in the blanks.

203 - The owner, Nonya restaurant KL
I like the lighting on the shop owners face and the blurred out bottles in the background.
She is surrounded by her tools of the trade, phone cash register and modern screen, but the rest of the place hasn't changed in a hundred years or more.

196 - in a nonya restaurant
Nonya cuisine is a mix of Malay and Chinese food. This very small restaurant in the back streets of Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown area looks like it hasn't changed in a hundred years. The old photos on the wall and traditional furnishings suited an antique look for this photo.
193 - Lion dancer inside
Autumn festival in Kuala Lumpur... The Chinese community put on a lion dance and dragon dance to celebrate the moon festival. I like the way the dancer can be seen inside the lions head.
192 - Philipino singer
Hand held no flash using the 50mm f1.8 lens. I printed out a couple of photos to give to the young lady the next day. As luck would have it the band was not playing on Sunday evening andI had to leave the photos with the waitress to pass on later.
