I took this photo about 18 months ago. When COVID came to Australia we locked down our population. My elderly mother was in this nursing home and was not allowed to have any visitors. Normally I would have dinner with her every night, Now all I could do was stand outside her window and speak with her over the telephone.. Mum passed away 6 months later.

Blue Tree

Along the Highway between Shepparton and Griffith the earth is flat and featureless. However, I came across a dead tree that had been painted blue. I like the way the colour of the sky has been transferred to the tree. It’s almost as if the tree fell from the sky and was trying to get back up again.

Milky Way outside Griffith NSW Australia.

Its been almost 7 years since I last uploaded a photo a day on my blog. Today I start again.

Its been amazing this evening to spend an hour looking at the blogsite and seeing all the photos going back to 2010 when I first started this challenge.

This photo was taken about 2 weeks ago. This is a 24 second exposure at ISO 5000, aperture was f4. And focussed at infinity. My brother was down the road and lit up the gum tree with a flashlight for approx 3 seconds. I am pretty happy with this, as it’s just my 3rd attempt at Astro photography.
