Day 93 - UnderCarriage

Along one of the small crowed, dusty noisy laneways in Old Delhi a woman stops to buy bannanas from the street vendor.
Not sure who's daughter found themselves in the dirt under the cat but I thought it made a unique picture. The woman's sari was a bright red and this took the attention away from the little girl .. but Black & White helps to make the child's face stand out from behind the spokes.

Day 92 - Garlands, wash and prayer

Old Delhi - This woman sells garlands to worshippers that have just washed their feet and are preparing to enter a small temple or Ashram. I just love the colours in this.

Day 90 - Rickshaw resting

These two guys were resting in the shade. Seems like at least one of them was sleeping on the job.

Day 89 - Water

This is India's summer season. Today in Delhi its hot 39C but not as hot as it was last week 44C.
Its clear from my travels today that two things are important here - Shade and Water.
Here two boys fill a water barrel along the roadside.

Boy sits on the back of a vespa scooter in the heat.

A Panni Walla (Water Vendor) Fresh Limes attract buyers attention.

A typical Panni Walla's water cart.

Day 88 A truckfull of tomatos

Followed a truck along the dusty road in Hyderabad India early this afternoon. the cropped photo brings out the detals of the individual tomatoes while the metal gate provides interesting windows to look through.

An alternative crop - This one also looks promising and a bit of HDR treatment shuld improve this dramatically.

Day 87 - The Doorman

This is Mr. Suresh - The Doorman at the hotel in Mumbai. He is the first face you see when you arrive at the hotel. He is on complete control of the forecourt of the hotel. His service and knowledge was impecable.
I am so glad he allowed me to take his picture today.

Day 85 - Dhobi Ghat 2

Its days like this that make all the other days drift away. Here in Mumbai in just a few short minutes I thik I have captured a few more memories and experiences and a photo or two to go with them. ZThese two "Dhobi wallas". are just starting to fold the clothes as the sun starts to set. They were sitting on top of the roof of their building and stopped to smile for me. The setting sun illuminated the washing, bathing it in a nice amber light.

Day 84 - Dhobi Ghat Mumbai

Mumbai India - This is "Dhobi Ghat".
This part of town washes clothes in stone bins filled with boiling caustic soda and water rinses.
Its hard to imagine that washing clothes in this way will result in clean whote clothes - but apparently it has doen so for many hundreds of years.

This was taken just before sunset and cropped for best composition

On the way nto the office - stock in traffic and needing a picture for today's post, I decided to conduct a very quick exercise in Depth of Field. Here the square taillamp is in good focus while the from nissan tail-lamp and the one in the top left are deleiberatly blurry. This makes the eye focus on the in focus tail-lamp.

Day 81 - The Tree

Last weekend I had to work on Sunday - But it was such a nice day I left work around 2 PM. Taking the long way home I meandered around the countryside looking for a photo opportunity. The sky was perfectly clear, blue and the clouds were so fluffy - The suns was at my back and illuminated this very old eucalyptus tree. I think the stone fence draws the eye towards the tree. Not perfect - but nice enough.
