On the way from Melbourne to Bendigo we were diverted off the main freeway and were lucky enough to come accross this scene. A windmill pumps the little remaing water out of the dam. It's just the start of summer here and there's lots more hot weather still to come. A hundred meteres or so from here was another dry dam, a few kangaroos were drinking , but they were skitish and bounded away before I got a decent photo.
