53 - Mungo National Park

This was one of the highligts of our 7 day photographuc journey.
Unfortunatly due to heavy rains in the desert area a lot of the park was restricted and we were not permitted to spend more than 1 hour at the " Great walls of China" due to erosion. These "walls" have stood for about 50,000 years but are now eroding quickly as the sand is first washed away by water and then blown away by wind.

The parts of the wall that face the sun are painted Gold and red as the sun sets.

As the sun sets and we walk back to the car we can see the road snaking off into the distance. Dust whipped up by the cars makes the road look like a misty river.
